Munson Healthcare Names Chief Marketing and Communications Officer

Munson Healthcare is pleased to announce the appointment of Megan Brown as the health system’s new Chief Marketing and Communications Officer. She will lead internal and external marketing, communications and public relations for the health system which includes eight hospitals across northern Michigan.

She began her career as deputy press secretary to former Governor Jennifer Granholm before joining Lansing-based public affairs firm Truscott Rossman. Most recently, Bown held the role of executive director, Corporate Communications at Consumers Energy.

“Megan led teams with best-in-class employee engagement and was responsible for the company’s brand communications strategy to 6.8 million customers across Michigan,” said Ed Ness, president and CEO, Munson Healthcare. “We feel fortunate to have someone of her diverse background and close ties to the community join our leadership team.”

Brown was born and raised in Traverse City where she lives with her husband and two boys. A graduate of Traverse City West High School, she holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Michigan State University, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan.

In her spare time, Brown enjoys long-distance running and is active in the Central Neighborhood Association and Traverse Connect Leadership Roundtable.
