Fresh, Lemon Broccoli Pesto-Style Sauce

Brimming with bright lemon flavor, this creamy sauce is a clever way to add a power veggie, packed with vitamin C, fiber, calcium, and more. Spoon it over pasta, your favorite protein – like eggs – a sandwich, or roasted veggies for an extra serving of greens that doubles as a zesty sauce. 


  • 1 cup cooked broccoli pieces
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp chopped walnuts
  • ¼ cup vegetable broth
  • cup plain nonfat yogurt


Put all ingredients in a blender and blend for about 20 to 30 seconds. If mixture is too thick, add a little more vegetable broth. Serve hot or cold.
