Resident Class of 2024 Start Their Training

Munson Healthcare’s Family Practice Residency Class of 2024 recently joined the health system to begin their residency training that will equip them for rural and small-town practice. Residents include:

Amanda Jackson-Morgan, D.O. - Dr. Jackson-Morgan was born and raised in Sanford, Mich. She attended Alma College for her undergraduate degree, where she double majored in integrative physiology and health science, and dance.  For three years, Dr. Morgan worked as a dance teacher and emergency medicine technician. She then went on to medical school at Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine in Las Cruces, N.M. Dr. Morgan, her husband, Graham, and two children said they are thrilled to be in Traverse City where they can enjoy hiking, hunting, and the beautiful lakes.  In her free time, Dr. Morgan enjoys exercise, traveling and “a great farmers market!”

Barbara “Basia” Korcz, D.O. - Dr. Korcz was born in Quebec, Canada but was raised primarily in Granger, Ind. She attended Purdue University where she majored in biology, health and disease and minored in psychology. She attended Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Indianapolis, Ind., where she received her medical degree.  In her free time, she enjoys gardening, paddle boarding, running, and hiking with her dog. 

Amanda Stark, D.O. - Dr. Stark was born and raised in Cadillac, Mich.  She attended Michigan State University for her undergraduate degree in biomedical laboratory science. She then went to MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a physician.  She said she is “incredibly grateful” to be finishing her medical training in northern Michigan and plans to practice in the area after completing residency. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching cooking shows, and doing puzzles. 

Maxwell Uschuk, M.D. - Dr. Uschuk was born and raised in Bayfield, Colo., and grew up enjoying the great outdoors. Prior to receiving his undergraduate degree he worked as an emergency medical technician. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Colorado State University, majoring in biomedical sciences and worked as a teaching assistant for human anatomy. After graduation and honing some construction skills, Dr. Uschuk became a medical assistant for two years at a family practice in Fort Collins, Colo., cultivating his interest in family medicine. He then attended and graduated from Ross University School of Medicine on the Island of Dominica. He is excited to be Traverse City for his residency program and to explore what the beautiful state of Michigan has to offer.
 
Jamie Wagner, D.O. - Dr. Wagner grew up in Marquette, Mich. She attended Albion College where earned her undergraduate degree in biology. She continued her education in New Mexico at Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine. She enjoys spending time with her family, skiing, hiking, and getting outdoors. Dr. Wagner is excited to be back in northern Michigan and is looking forward to continuing her education in the residency program. 

Megan Wolbers, D.O. - Dr. Wolbers was born in Kalamazoo, Mich., and attended Michigan State University for a degree in microbiology and a minor in Spanish. She attended Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine in New Mexico, where she learned to love hiking and green chiles. She completed a transitional year in southeast Michigan following graduation, and is excited to begin residency in Traverse City. Her hobbies include reading on the beach, binging any Netflix series, and pursuing adventures with her dog and husband. Her dog, Huckleberry, is equally as excited to explore all the new trails.
