Traverse City Woman Bikes Again After Accident

Kaischa Smith of Traverse City was riding her bike last summer when she was hit by a car. She has gone through extensive surgeries and rehab during her recovering to get back to all the little things in life. Her story, "Wonder Woman" attitude, and the team who saved her are simply amazing.

“It was really powerful,” cyclist Kaischa Smith says of being able to walk again after her harrowing experience of getting hit by a car last summer. “I was so afraid I wouldn’t have my legs … That was just a huge milestone for me.”

Kaischa credits our inpatient rehabilitation team with helping her recover, both physically and emotionally. “I’ve beat my expectations. I finally feel like I’m seeing light at the end of the tunnel. I’m getting really close.” Watch her story to learn more:
