Des Worthington

Des Worthington, Chief Development Officer, Munson Healthcare

Desiree Worthington, Chief Development Officer of Munson Healthcare, leads fundraising efforts for wholly-integrated hospitals and hospice within Munson Healthcare. She has served in this role since 2006.

Des has a lifetime of experience raising dollars for both small and large organizations to support health, human services, youth, religious and conservation missions. She is credentialed as a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and holds bachelor of science degree from Northern Illinois University.

She and her husband Greg enjoy spending time with their three daughters, son, and his wife.


Ruth Bloomer

Ruth Bloomer, Senior Leadership Giving Officer

Ruth Bloomer is a senior leadership giving officer for Munson Healthcare Foundations. She has been a Munson Healthcare employee for more than 30 years and involved with fundraising for most of those years. Ruth has helped raise more than $80 million to support Munson Healthcare, Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital, and the health care needs of our region.

Ruth has lived in the upper and lower peninsulas of Michigan. She settled in the Traverse City area in 1978 after completing her master’s degree from Michigan State University.

Ruth has served on numerous committees and boards over the years working on community issues involving youth, senior citizens, the homeless, and schools. She currently serves on the board of the Women’s Resource Center – Grand Traverse.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and two dogs.


Kim BiddingerKim Biddinger, Leadership Giving Officer - East Region

Kim Biddinger is the Leadership Giving Specialist for Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital Foundation and Munson Healthcare Otsego Memorial Hospital Foundation. She has been raising funds for Otsego Memorial Hospital since 2010 and is passionate about connecting donors to the causes they care about. Kim was instrumental in raising $4 million for the "Building the Future of Local Healthcare" capital campaign which includes the hospital’s largest gift, naming the Dale E. Johnson Emergency Department.

Kim is credentialed as a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and holds certificates in Non-Profit Executive Leadership and Fund Raising Management from Indiana University and the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.

Kim serves on the board of the Indian River Chamber of Commerce and serves as president of the Gaylord Booster Club. She spends her spare time skiing, hiking, biking and golfing with family and friends.


Kelli Cravey

Kelli Cravey, Leadership Giving Officer

Kelli Cravey is a leadership giving officer for Munson Healthcare Foundations. A Traverse City native, she spent more than a decade working for the American Cancer Society in memory of her mother, Debbie Kaberle, who passed away from breast cancer when Kelli was a teenager. Kelli raised close to $80 million dollars for breast cancer research and programs. A carrier of the BRCA 1 genetic mutation, she underwent prophylactic surgeries to prevent breast cancer and now calls herself a cancer “previvor.” Kelli is passionate about health care and genetics.

She enjoys spending time with her family, golfing, kayaking, boating, and fishing. Kelli volunteers with the National Cherry Festival and is proud to have been the 1998-1999 National Cherry Queen. Kelli has a bachelor of arts in communications from Michigan State University.


John Gower

John Gower, Traverse City, Frankfort and Charlevoix Charitable Giving Officer

John Gower serves as the Traverse City, Frankfort and Charlevoix charitable giving officer for Munson Healthcare Foundations. Prior to joining the Foundation in 2017, John spent 10 years as a professional with the Boy Scouts of America in central Indiana and throughout Michigan, focusing on fundraising, membership recruitment, and volunteer engagement.

John resides in Traverse City with his wife, Amanda, and two young children. He holds a bachelor of applied arts degree in integrative public relations and recreation, parks & leisure services administration from Central Michigan University.

John is a lifelong member of the Boy Scouts of America as an Eagle Scout and is active with the Traverse City Young Professionals and Chamber of Commerce. He especially enjoys camping, hiking, and traveling with his family.


Debra Henderson

Debra Henderson, MSHC, Director of Stewardship & Annual Giving

Debra Henderson serves as director of Stewardship & Annual Giving for Munson Healthcare Foundations. Prior to joining Munson Healthcare in 2013, she worked for The American Cancer Society and The American Heart Association, raising more than $25 million to support disease research, risk awareness, and public health advocacy.

Debra relocated to Traverse City from Charlotte, NC. She holds a dual bachelor of arts degree in marketing and psychology from the University of North Carolina and a master of science degree in health communications from Boston University.

Debra enjoys tennis, kayaking, skiing, and hiking with her dog through all the amazing trails in Traverse City.


Matt McDonough

Matt McDonough, Leadership Giving Officer

Matt McDonough is a leadership giving officer for Munson Healthcare Foundations. Matt served as the Real Estate and Properties Manager for Munson Healthcare prior to joining the Foundation in 2017.

Originally from southwestern Michigan, Matt moved to Traverse City in 2000 and established a successful career in non-profit land conservation. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at Michigan State University.

Matt serves on the board of TART Trails and is a past board member of the Traverse City and Garfield Township Recreational Authority. He spends his spare time mountain biking, cycling, hiking, reading, and being outside with his wife and their two great kids.


Courtney Mulder

Courtney Mulder, Cadillac Charitable Giving Officer

Courtney Mulder is the charitable giving officer for the Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital Foundation. She has been associated with Cadillac Hospital since 2013.

Courtney is a Lake City native and lives there today with her husband and three young sons. She holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing and sales from Central Michigan University.

Most of her free time is spent with her family and friends. She is a part of a women’s golf league and spends a lot of time with her family swimming and staying at their family cabin. She also enjoys reading, biking and running.


Amy Peterson

Amy Peterson, Grants Administration Officer

Amy Peterson serves as the grants administration officer for Munson Healthcare. She has been with Munson Healthcare since 2015 and is responsible for state and federal grants throughout the Munson Healthcare system. Amy helped secure a large USDA Rural Utilities Service grant, as well as several State of Michigan program grants.

Amy relocated to Traverse City after living in the Detroit area and has a PhD in medical sociology and a master’s degree in health communication, both from Wayne State University. Amy came to Traverse City from the Karmanos Cancer Institute, where she managed NIH funded research studies.

Amy is a long-time volunteer with Camp Catch-a-Rainbow, a camping program for 7-15 year olds with cancer and is a board member of the Utopia Foundation. Amy lives in Williamsburg with her husband and two young daughters. She loves biking, hiking, and enjoying the Grand Traverse region with friends and family.


Chelsea Platte

Chelsea Platte, Charlevoix Leadership Giving Officer

Chelsea Platte serves as the Charlevoix leadership giving officer for Munson Healthcare Foundations. A Petoskey native and University of Michigan graduate, Chelsea spent her early professional years in downtown Chicago in the for-profit realm of condominium management. She is excited to have returned home and discovered a passion for community health and philanthropy.

She is a member of the Rotary Club of Charlevoix and is a past Leadership Charlevoix County graduate (Class of 2014). She was also proudly named the 2015 Business Professional of the Year by the Charlevoix Area Chamber of Commerce. She serves as a board member for Northern Community Mediation and is the 2018 board chair for the Charlevoix Area Chamber of Commerce.

She loves traveling and spending time outdoors with her husband, Peter, and their three dogs. She also enjoys paddleboarding, yoga, and knitting.
