COVID-19 Response Fund

The COVID-19 Response Fund was established to help support the emerging needs of Munson Healthcare hospitals. Make a gift today to help ensure our healthcare team can quickly respond to patient and clinical needs in this time of crisis.

This fund will be used for:

  • Emergency medical triage supplies
  • Medical supplies for emergency departments, surgical, room and other patient-specific supplies in high demand
  • Testing sites to help prevent the spread of the illness

The Innovation Fund was established at Munson Healthcare Foundations to enable hospital leadership to respond quickly to opportunities to improve patient health by changing the way care is delivered. Recruitment of new medical specialists to our communities may require a new forward thinking program, game-changing equipment, or cutting-edge technology that alters the way health care is delivered and ultimately improves patient care.

As a result of growth in patient testing and diagnostics through the services of Traverse Heart and Vascular, Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital is currently in need of assistance for the following innovations

  • GE CASE Premium Stress System and T2100 Treadmill is a stand-alone, highly scalable exercise testing solution that helps physicians quickly and easily assess cardiac function during exercise. The cost of the GE CASE Premium Stress System and T2100 Treadmill is $61,780.
  • In order to meet the goal of standardization throughout the entire Munson Healthcare system, Grayling Hospital is in need of a new Automated Hematology Analyzer, which will provide a whole new approach to blood analysis automation by offering higher capacity solutions that are both scalable and configurable. The cost for the Sysmex Hematology Analyzer System is $166,370.

Crawford Continuing Care Center

From the moment you walk in the door at Crawford Continuing Care Center, you'll notice the caring individuals and smiling faces - and, you may even recognize a familiar face of a friend or neighbor. The Crawford Continuing Care Center is a 39-bed, long-term care facility that also offers short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care. Of the 39 beds, about 15 are used for short-term rehab, while the rest are used by residents who call the Center their home.

The staff at Crawford Continuing Care Center strive to create a loving, caring and nurturing environment for everyone who walks through the doors. This year year they continue to focus on creating a safe and nurturing outdoor space for residents who live and recover here. The new patio area will include a covered pavilion to help shade residents and allow for them to enjoy our northern Michigan summers. Additionally, this space will include a walking path for rehabilitation, physical therapy and wheelchair accessible picnic tables.

In order to continue providing high-level care and a comfortable home for residents, we need generous partners who understand the importance of maintaining a high quality long-term care facility in the Grayling community.

Patient Needs

The Patient Needs Fund provides financial assistance for the urgent needs of patients during a health-related crisis. Medical social workers and case management staff identify and approve financial assistance through this fund, based on patient needs. Immediate assistance is often provided until other resources can be arranged in partnership with other human services agencies.

Help provided through the Patient Needs Fund includes:

  • Gas cards, which allow patients to travel to and from home for medical appointments.
  • Assistance with groceries, medications, rent/mortgage payments, utilities.
