Effective treatment begins with an accurate diagnosis. Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital has the latest technology and experienced, knowledgeable staff to conduct the tests you need to begin your return to good health. About 20,000 radiology exams are performed each year in a department designed for efficiency and patient comfort. 

Diagnostic services are available around the clock for emergencies. Appointments for outpatient radiology procedures are scheduled during the week from 8 am – 4 pm, with the exception of MRI, which also is available on Sundays from 7 am – 7 pm for patient convenience. Comfortable, private men’s and women’s changing rooms are available.

Board certified radiologist Carl D. Harlan, DO, reads and reports on all diagnostic imaging studies, with backup service provided by a radiology group that interprets images via telemedicine. All of our technologists, including two ultrasonographers and 10 X-ray technologists, are certified by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT), cross-trained, and meet all licensing standards.
