Otsego Memorial Hospital Patient Financial Services works with patients and insurance companies to help ensure a patient’s bills are paid. This office bills insurance carriers for procedures and services provided at the hospital. It also assists in resolving any billing issues that may arise.

Why did I receive a bill from a doctor I did not see?

The hospital may send certain tests to another lab for processing. You also may receive bills from a radiologist or pathologist who reviewed your tests and provided results to your doctor. You will receive a separate bill for these services.

Why did I receive a bill from Northwestern Michigan Emergency Physicians after my visit to the Emergency Department?

Otsego Memorial Hospital has entered into a partnership with Northwestern Michigan Emergency Physicians, establishing the group as the provider of emergency medicine services in the Emergency department. Northwestern Michigan Emergency Physicians has existing partnerships with Munson Medical Center and Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital. They now provide the billing services for the professional component of visits to the Emergency Department.

What if I am unable to pay my bill?

Patients who have difficulty paying their bill should speak to one of our Patient Financial Advocates at 231-935-2350. We can help you determine your eligibility for financial assistance.

How much do I really owe?

You will not receive a statement or bill from us until your insurance has processed your account. The amount you owe is located at the bottom right of the statement next to “Please Pay this Amount.” This balance reflects any co-payment, deductibles, co-insurance, or non-covered services your insurance indicates are your responsibility. Please review your Explanation of Benefits or contact your insurance company with any questions.


OMH Medical Group Billing

Physician Financial Services bills insurance carriers for office visits as well as procedures performed by providers employed by the OMH Medical Group.

This includes providers at:

  • The OMH Medical Group in Gaylord, Elmira, Lewiston, and Indian River.
  • OMH Walk-In Clinic
  • All OMH Orthopedics locations

Physician Financial Services is located at 271 McCoy Rd., Gaylord, MI 49735. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 p.m., with staff available for phone calls only until 5 pm.
