Opioid use disorder is a complex problem that can affect anyone. It knows no demographic boundaries; however, individuals in rural areas often face additional challenges and risk factors, such as isolation, unemployment and poverty. Limited resources for prevention, education, treatment and recovery services further compound the problem for healthcare and human services providers.
This educational webinar for healthcare and public health professionals will provide a foundational overview of opioid use disorder and the opioid epidemic, in addition to other topics including medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD), risk reduction, motivational interviewing, contingency management, and alternative pain management.
Featured presenters and panelists include:
- Bengt Arnetz, MD, PhD, MPH, MSCEPI
- Cara Poland, MD, MEd, FACP, DFASAM
- Andrea Wendling, MD, FAAFP
- Courtney Goetz
