Roger Gerstle, M.D., has been named the new medical director for Munson Hospice, Palliative Care, and Home Care programs.

Dr. Gerstle joins Munson Hospice after 19 years at Munson Family Practice, where he has served as a faculty member of the Munson Family Practice Residency Program. He replaces Diane Parsons, M.D., who has joined iNDIGO Collaborative Care.

“After a career-long interest in palliative and end-of-life care, I am thrilled to now be working full-time in this wonderful organization,” Dr. Gerstle said. “I hope to build on the solid foundation established by Drs. Don Fraser and Diane Parsons, as we grow our palliative care program at the Cowell Family Cancer Center and elsewhere. I also plan to participate in increasing our community's knowledge and use of advance care directives.”

Dr. Gerstle is a graduate of University of Washington School of Medicine. He performed his family practice residency in Tacoma, Washington.
