Family Practice Residency Class of 2024

Munson Healthcare Family Practice Residency Program class of 2023 recently arrived at Munson Medical Center to begin their studies.

The three-year residency prepares students to be physicians in rural and small communities and includes clinic, hospital and community-based training with Munson Healthcare physician instructors. This dual accreditation program accepts both DO and MD trainees and is affiliated with the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.


Class of 2024

Amanda Jackson-Morgan, D.O.

Dr. Morgan was born and raised in Sanford, MI. She attended Alma College for her undergraduate, where she double majored in Integrative Physiology / Health Science and Dance. For three years, Dr. Morgan worked as a dance teacher and an EMT. She then went on to medical school at Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine in Las Cruces, NM. Dr. Morgan, her husband Graham, and two children are thrilled to be moving to N MI where they can enjoy hiking, hunting, and the beautiful lakes. In her free time, Dr. Morgan enjoys exercise, traveling and a great farmer’s market!


Barbara “Basia” Korcz, D.O.

Dr. Korcz was born in Quebec, Canada but was raised primarily in Granger, IN. She attended Purdue University where she majored in Biology, Health and Disease and minored in Psychology. She attended Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Indianapolis, IN where she received her medical degree.  In her free time, she enjoys gardening, paddle boarding, running and hiking with her dog.

 


Amanda Stark D.O.

Dr. Stark was born and raised in Cadillac, MI.  She attended Michigan State University for her undergraduate studies where she gained her B.S. in Biomedical Laboratory Science. She then went to MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a physician.  She is incredibly grateful to be finishing her medical training in N MI, as she plans to practice in the area after completing residency. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, watching cooking shows, and doing puzzles.


Maxwell Uschuk, M.D.

Dr. Max Uschuk was born and raised in Bayfield, CO. Max grew up enjoying the great outdoors. Prior to receiving his undergraduate degree he worked as an EMT. From there, Max went on to obtain his B.S. from Colorado State University, majoring in Biomedical Sciences and worked as a teaching assistant for Human Anatomy. After graduation and honing some construction skills, Max became a Medical Assistant for two years at a family practice in Fort Collins, CO, cultivating his interest in Family Medicine. He then attended and graduated from Ross University School of Medicine on the Island of Dominica. Max is now in Traverse City for his Residency program and is excited to find out what the beautiful state of Michigan has to offer.


Jamie Wagner, D.O.

Dr. Wagner grew up in Marquette, MI. She attended Albion College where earned a B.A. in Biology. She continued her education in New Mexico at Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine. She enjoys spending time with her family, skiing, hiking, and getting outdoors. Dr. Wagner is excited to be returning to N MI and is looking forward to continuing her education with Munson Family Medicine.

 


Megan Wolbers, D.O.

Dr. Wolbers was born in Kalamazoo, MI and attended Michigan State University for a degree in Microbiology / minor in Spanish. She attended Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine in New Mexico, where she gained a new found love for hiking and green chiles. She completed a Transitional Year in SE MI following graduation, and is excited to begin residency in Traverse City. Her hobbies include reading on the beach, binging any Netflix series, and adventuring with her dog and husband. Her dog, Huckleberry, is equally as excited to explore all the new trails.
