Pharmacy Residency Bios

Current Pharmacy Residents

Genevieve Bates

Genevieve grew up in Fishers, IN and completed her PharmD from Butler University in 2022. Her professional interests include Oncology and Infectious Disease. Outside of work, you can find her horseback riding (she was on the Butler Equestrian Team), going on a run or a bike ride with her puppy, skiing, exploring the outdoors, watching movies, or talking about Disney. Genevieve fell in love with Munson Medical Center’s positive, upbeat environment in addition to the high quality, compassionate preceptors who are always willing to go to great lengths to foster resident growth.

Brianna Brian

Brianna grew up in Frankfort, MI and completed her bachelor’s degree and PharmD at Ferris State University. Her interests include oncology and cardiology. Outside of residency you can find Brianna out on the lake, baking, playing ANY type of game, and making things with her cricut. Brianna was a previous Ferris Longitudinal DIRECT P4 student and pharmacy technician at Munson Medical Center and fell in love with the upbeat, welcoming culture Munson has.

Carley Dubbert

Carley grew up in St. Joseph, MI and completed her bachelor’s degree and PharmD at Ferris State University.  Her clinical interests include emergency medicine, critical care and internal medicine.  Outside of residency, she can be found cycling the back roads of Traverse City, going for a walk with friends, or relaxing with a fiction novel.  Carley was drawn to the PGY1 program at Munson because of the upbeat, welcoming atmosphere and beautiful location with access to many outdoor activities.

Tony Huizenga

Tony completed his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at Grand Valley State University. He then proceeded to obtain his Doctor of Pharmacy at Ferris State University College of Pharmacy. His current areas of interest include oncology, cardiology, and pediatrics. Tony has two cats (Prozac and Paxil) and a dog (Addie). Outside of pharmacy, his interests include spending time outside hiking, golfing, or snowboarding and playing board games, card games, and video games. He also enjoys going out to eat, going to concerts, watching/playing sports, and spending time with my friends and family.

Nate Richards

Nathan grew up in Milford, MI and attended Ferris State University for his undergraduate and completed his graduate education at Ferris State University’s College of Pharmacy. His professional interests vary from ambulatory care, transitions of care, infectious disease, emergency medicine and intensive care. He hopes to narrow that down over the course of his PGY-1 year. Outside of residency, you’ll find Nate spending time with family outdoors, fishing with his kids, golfing, hunting, playing hockey or snowboarding. Nate was drawn toward Munson Medical Center after meeting with the entire team including management and the lead preceptors. Nate has a passion for taking care of patients and making an impact on their lives for the better. He felt the same passion from the Munson team after speaking with them during interviews. He fell in love with Munson Medical Center’s culture seen all throughout their pharmacy department and pursued PGY1 training there for the people, culture, and expansion opportunities.
