Medicaid Eligibility Renewals

During the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, Michigan paused the Medicaid renewal process to prevent users from losing coverage during this time. With the end of the Public Health Emergency, Michigan restarted Medicaid renewals on April 1, 2023.

What you must do now:

  1. Update your address, phone number, and email address at michigan.gov/mibridges or contact your local MDHHS office.
  2. Report any changes to your household or income at michigan.gov/mibridges or contact your local MDHHS office.
  3. Check your mail or text messages for a renewal packet. Learn more about renewals and filling out the forms at michigan.gov/mibridges.

Once you receive your renewal packet:

  1. Be sure to fill it out, sign the forms, and return them by the due date with any required documentation. If you do not complete your renewal, you may lose your Medicaid coverage.
  2. If you are no longer eligible for Medicaid coverage, you can purchase health insurance through HealthCare.gov.
