Traverse City Woman Diagnosed with Breast Cancer

Janice Beyer of Traverse City had the picture of health at age 50. She ran 20 - 25 miles per week, was a vegetarian and had no family history of breast cancer. Her doctor discovered a lump and wanted to rule out breast cancer. Janice agreed and was shocked to learn that she had breast cancer. She proceeded with the recommended course of treatment at the Cowell Family Cancer Center and has a message to share with woman. 

"Whether or not you have cancer has already been decided. It's a matter of whether or not you're going to find out and do something about it or wait and maybe not have as many choices."

Dr. Yolena Kier, an oncologist at the Cowell Family Cancer Center, shares why prioritizing your health helps you continue caring for those around you.
