April Stroke Club: Advance Directives Update

The Grand Traverse Bay Area Stroke Club features information on advance care planning and completing advance directives at its meeting 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, at the Presbyterian Church in Traverse City.

The church is located at 701 Westminster in Traverse City.

Stephanie Van Slyke, MS-Bioethics, RN, HEC-C, Sr. Coordinator of Collaborative Care; Ethics Services, Munson Healthcare will discuss the various types of legal documents that enable you to remain in charge of your healthcare decisions should a stroke or other medical emergency leave you unable to make real-time medical care decisions for yourself.  Van Slyke will talk about life-sustaining medical treatments, CPR, and Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) orders and answer questions from participants. New and former members of the stroke club are invited to attend.
