Munson Healthcare Facilities Affected by Power Outages

Munson Healthcare officials report several health system locations have been affected by high winds creating power outages in the region.

Services are being impacted today in Traverse City, Buckley, Elk Rapids, Empire, Gaylord, Indian River, and Suttons Bay.

Patients should call ahead to their physicians, lab services, or pharmacy locations to ensure they are providing services. Patients with scheduled appointments are being contacted about alternative arrangements. 

In Traverse City, Foster Family Community Health Center is without power. Consumers Power estimates power will not be restored until this evening. Residents are advised:

  • Munson Healthcare Labs is recommending those needing lab services use the Chums Corner Lab, 4025 Chums Village Drive, Suite C. Patients can also go to the Munson Professional Building Lab at 1221 6th Street.
  • Munson Urgent Care is asking that patients who typically would use their services to go to the Walk-In Clinic, 3074 US-31. People could also call their primary care provider to inquire about the possibility of a same-day office visit. Residents are asked to not use Munson Medical Center’s Emergency Room unless it is a true emergency situation and condition.
  • Pharmacy prescription curbside pickup is available through 3 p.m.

Munson Healthcare Outpatient Services, which include lab services affected by loss of power include locations in Buckley, Empire, Elk Rapids, and Suttons Bay. In Indian River, OMH Medical Group’s clinic has been affected. In Gaylord, OMH Medical Group – Orthopedics and MedCare is closed.
