Matthew Smith, MD
Dr. Smith has been providing trusted, high-quality cosmetic and reconstructive surgery services in Northern Michigan for more than 25 years. He is Fellowship-trained in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with extensive experience and additional training at a prestigious plastic surgery clinic in Manhattan. Dr. Smith is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and prides himself on compassionate, artisan treatment to help you accomplish your aesthetic goals.
Ryan Burke, MD
Dr. Ryan Burke’s decision to specialize in plastic and reconstructive surgery was driven by the field's vast scope, which goes beyond cosmetic procedures to include critical work such as cancer reconstruction, facial trauma repair, extremity salvage, and soft tissue removal after significant weight loss. This diversity allows him to collaborate with a wide range of patients and medical professionals, applying creativity and flexible principles to both cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries.
After years of working in private practice, Dr. Burke joined Munson Healthcare’s Great Lakes Plastic Surgery and Skin Center to help continue to treat the community regardless of their need or background.
Abigail Bobbitt, PA
Abby has experience in plastic and hand surgery. After graduating with her Master of Science from Drexel University, she spent about 5 years working in a rural Maine community, gaining experience in the breadth of plastic surgery.
She is passionate about many aspects of plastic surgical care, including breast surgery, skin cancer prevention and treatment, and complex wound care/reconstruction.
Emily Hedley, PA
Emily has a strong background in dermatology and plastic surgery, and is passionate about educating the community about sun safety and skin cancer prevention, as well as helping patients achieve their optimal skin health goals.
Megan VanderKaay, PA
Before joining Munson, Megan spent two years as a hospitalist PA on the surgical co-management team at Children’s Hospital Colorado, where she provided comprehensive perioperative care for medically complex pediatric patients.
Megan has a strong interest in both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. She is dedicated to a patient-centered approach, emphasizing individualized care and clear communication to help patients achieve their desired outcomes.
