Lung Nodule Referral Program and Clinic
The Munson Medical Center Lung Nodule Referral Program allows primary care physicians or specialists to refer patients to a multidisciplinary team. Our goal is to provide expedited risk assessment, diagnostic work-up, and treatment planning with a patient navigator facilitating the process.
Patients requiring expedited evaluation are seen in a dedicated Lung Nodule Clinic housed at the Cowell Family Cancer Center in Traverse City.
What We Offer
- Comprehensive review of imaging findings
- Risk stratification using established guidelines
- Coordinated follow-up and tracking
- Multidisciplinary collaboration (Pulmonology, Radiology, Oncology, Thoracic Surgery)
- Patient-centered communication and education
Who Should Be Referred
Pulmonary nodule >8mm, particularly if there are risk factors for malignancy, including:
- Significant smoking history
- Growth over time
- Spiculated
- Personal or family history of lung cancer
- Lung RADS 4 on low-dose CT scan
