Volunteering at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center

Our volunteers are dedicated, caring, and willing to share their time and talents with the patients, residents, and staff at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.

To be a volunteer at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center, you must:

  • Be 14 years old or older
  • Be willing to go through a background check
  • Take a TB test and receive a flu shot
  • Be able to contribute a minimum of 50 hours of volunteering

We try to match volunteer skills with areas of need. General areas of need include being a greeter for the Surgical Services, visiting patients and residents in Dialysis, Long-term Care, and more.

Benefits and Opportunities for Volunteers

  • Individuals that volunteer for a period of 4 hours at one time may have a free meal valued at $5.00 or less.  This is for a meal consumed in the dining areas during regular meal times on the day you volunteer. 
  • After you have volunteered for a period of 20 hours and continue to volunteer for a time of at least 4 hours per week, you have use of the cardiac rehab exercise room.
  • Free Blood pressure screenings
  • Using volunteer experience on a resume or college application
