“For The Kids” Fundraising Concert Series

A Message from Dr. Douglas H. Slater, MD

When children in our community face illness or injury, Munson Healthcare is there to provide compassionate, expert care. But as demands on our emergency rooms, hospitals, and pediatric offices continue to grow, the strain on resources is becoming more apparent. 

As a pediatrician at Munson Medical Center, I witness these challenges firsthand—day and night—watching our dedicated teams work tirelessly to meet every child’s needs.

To help bridge these growing gaps in pediatric care, my wife and I are launching a new initiative: the “For The Kids” project. At its heart is a simple but powerful idea: bringing people together through music to support the health and well-being of our youngest patients.

Please join us at one or more of our series of fundraising concerts, supported by local businesses, medical professionals, and community members. These events will not only raise critical funds for pediatric services and equipment but also foster a sense of unity and shared purpose across our region.

For us, this project is deeply personal. It combines our lifelong love of music with our commitment to helping children thrive. We believe that when a community comes together—whether on a stage, in a hospital, or in the audience—we can make a meaningful difference.
