For over a decade, Paint the Town Pink honored individuals affected by cancer and raised funds and awareness for this important cause. This beloved community event has supported the purchase of 3D digital mammography equipment, a breast biopsy chair, and enhancements to breast health services and education at Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital.
We are thrilled to carry on the Paint the Town Pink tradition with several cancer awareness events this year!

Run the Town Pink 5K
Saturday, October 3, 2026
We’re thrilled to launch the very first Run the Town Pink 5K in beautiful Manistee on Saturday, October 3, 2026. This inspiring event unites our community in strength, support, and awareness—all along a scenic course that winds along the shores of Lake Michigan and through downtown Manistee.
Remembrance Walk
Saturday, October 3, 2026, 10 am
Corner of River and Division Streets, Manistee
The Remembrance Walk will begin shortly after 10 am once the Run the Town Pink 5K race participants have completed their route. The walk is free to attend.
Join us near the fountain at the corner of River and Pine Streets for a heartfelt ceremony, followed by a walk down River Street to Division Street and returning along the sidewalks. We walk in solidarity, remembrance, and hope. Wear pink to show your support and help us turn the town pink with love and awareness.
Empower Hour | Women's Health Symposium
Thursday, October 1, 2026. 5:30 pm
West Shore Community College Building, 400 River St., Manistee
The Empower Hour brings together experts, caregivers and survivors to share powerful insights and personal stories — reminding us that knowledge, compassion and community strengthen every step of the journey.
Program highlights include genetics education, caregiver support, specialty services and an inspiring survivor story.
This event is free. Refreshments will be served. Door prizes will be awarded to lucky attendees.
