Advanced wound care specialists offer effective, individualized, innovative treatments that optimize the healing of chronic wounds, including venous stasis ulcers, arterial ulcers, bed sores, diabetic ulcers, and slow-healing surgical incisions.

Physician-directed advanced wound care is available at the Advanced Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center in Traverse City and the Manistee Wound and Hyperbaric Center. Chronic wound healing is sometimes achieved in cooperation with referring physicians, plastic surgeons, podiatrists, infection disease specialists, and other specialists as needed.

Routine Wound Care

Physical therapy may increase strength and mobility to enhance tissue healing. Routine wound care (dressing changes) also is available by physical therapists in rehabilitation departments at Charlevoix Hospital, Kalkaska Memorial Health Center, Manistee Hospital, Munson Medical Center, Otsego Memorial Hospital, and Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital, as well as at the Grayling Primary Care.
