Grand Traverse Bay Area Stroke Club meets at Presbyterian Church on April 8
The Grand Traverse Bay Area Stroke Club will host a meeting from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, at the Presbyterian Church, located at 701 Westminster Rd. in Traverse City. The event will feature MedRhythms' InTandem.
The group will gather for a virtual presentation from InTandem, a prescription medical device designed to improve walking difficulties for stroke survivors. It uses Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation (RAS) along with the power of rhythm to help the brain coordinate movement. It can integrate music into the clinical treatment and uses small sensors on participants’ shoes to track their gait in real-time to personalize the experience.
New and former members of the stroke club are invited to attend. Virtual attendance will be available for this month’s session.
Melinda Hollands, L.M.S.W., with Munson Medical Center’s Patient Care Management Department, will facilitate the club meeting. For more information, please contact Hollands at 231-935-6380, and to obtain a Zoom link for the meeting.
The Grand Traverse Bay Area Stroke Club is open to the public and meets on the second Wednesday of each month. The group offers stroke survivors and support persons the opportunity to learn, share, and connect through speakers, demonstrations, and discussions.
