Good news. Our recent move to Cerner Remote Hosting will reduce the frequency and length of downtimes for Cerner users. However, the system will now ask users to log out then back in more frequently.
Here’s what to expect:
What and When: A portion of Cerner servers that host our applications will automatically reboot once daily Monday through Friday between 5:00 am and 6:00 am. If you are using a Cerner application during this time:
- You will receive a system notification to “Please save your work, log out and log back into the Cerner applications so this server can have maintenance performed. Ignoring this warning may result in lost work.”
- Please save your work by completing documentation, orders, and charges and exit the application.
- This message will be repeated 3 times before users are automatically logged off from the Cerner session.
- Once users save their work and log off, users can immediately log back in to continue their work,
Who’s affected: All PowerChart, FirstNet, RadNet, PharmNet and Revenue Cycle users, excluding Charlevoix.
Why: To improve system performance and decrease downtimes.
Action requested:
- When you receive the message to log out, log out after saving your work and then you can immediately log back in.
