A missed notice. A missed deadline. A missed renewal.
For thousands of Northern Michigan residents, something as simple as a missed notice, missed deadline, or confusing paperwork could mean losing access to medications, preventive care, or ongoing treatment.
To help patients navigate upcoming Medicaid changes and maintain access to care, Munson Healthcare is launching a Medicaid support initiative featuring a dedicated support line, online resources, and community outreach.
Community members who have questions or need assistance can call 231-935-2860 and press 1 to connect directly with Medicaid enrollment and renewal support specialists.
Resources, FAQs, eligibility guidance, and additional information are also available at munsonhealthcare.org/medicaid.
Beginning in 2027, changes to Medicaid eligibility and renewal requirements are expected to create new challenges for many beneficiaries. While many individuals may remain eligible for coverage, missed paperwork, renewal deadlines, or confusion about new requirements could place their benefits at risk.
We want people to know they do not have to navigate these changes alone," said Ed Ness, CEO of Munson Healthcare. "Our mission is to improve the health of the communities we serve, and that includes helping patients understand their options and staying connected to the care they need. Sometimes the most important healthcare support begins before a patient ever walks through our doors.
Through this initiative, Munson Healthcare will provide:
- Dedicated Medicaid Assistance Line: Call 231-935-2860, press 1 for enrollment and renewal support.
- Online Medicaid Resource Center: Eligibility guidance, renewal information, FAQs, and links to additional resources available at munsonhealthcare.org/medicaid.
- Certified Enrollment Specialists: Assistance with Medicaid enrollment, renewals, and eligibility questions.
- Financial Counseling Support: Guidance to help patients understand available coverage options and financial assistance resources.
- Targeted Outreach and Education: Community awareness efforts, educational materials, and outreach to patients who may need additional support.
Maintaining health coverage helps individuals access preventive screenings, manage chronic conditions, and obtain medications. Munson’s initiative is designed to remove barriers, reduce confusion, and ensure patients have trusted local resources available when questions arise.
By connecting patients with the right information and support, we can help more families remain covered and focus on what matters most: their health and well-being,
said Ness.
