Munson Healthcare announces the planned retirement of Kelly Tomaszewski, a deeply respected and beloved leader whose unwavering dedication and compassionate leadership have profoundly shaped both Manistee Hospital and Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital. Over the years, Kelly has been a guiding force—championing patient care, empowering teams, and fostering a culture of excellence that will continue to inspire long after her departure.
"It has been the honor of my career serving the communities of Manistee and Frankfort,” said Tomaszewski. “I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together and confident that the new leadership team will continue to build on our foundation of compassionate, high-quality care."
Kelly’s retirement, effective January 2, 2026, marks a meaningful transition in Munson Healthcare’s journey toward more integrated and collaborative leadership. As part of its Regional Care Transformation Plan, Munson Healthcare is implementing a regional leadership structure designed to enhance collaboration, streamline operations, and support long-term sustainability across its South Region hospitals. The changes are as follows:
- Peter Marinoff remains President and CEO of the South Region, providing strategic oversight and reinforcing Munson Healthcare’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and community-focused care.
- Kristi Johnson has been appointed Chief Nursing Officer for Cadillac, Manistee, and Paul Oliver Memorial Hospitals. In this role, she will provide consistent clinical leadership across the South Region, ensuring high standards of patient care and nursing excellence.
- Cristen Brandsma will now serve as Chief Operating Officer for the same three hospitals, bringing operational alignment and continuity to support efficient and effective hospital operations.
- Manistee resident Brian McComb, DO, continues in his role as Chief Medical Officer for Munson’s South Region, offering clinical leadership that supports high-quality, patient-centered care and advances clinical integration.

As we move forward, our unified leadership team is well-positioned to continue our commitment to these important community hospitals and staples in our region, in both Manistee and Frankfort," said Marinoff.
