National watchdog group gives hospital its top mark for quality and safety.

Munson Healthcare Otsego Memorial Hospital announced today that it has received an “A” grade from The Leapfrog Group for Fall 2025. The twice-yearly report card from the hospital quality organization was released in November.

“This ‘A’ grade is a great example of how our healthcare team is committed to providing the highest level of safe, quality care to our patients,” said Munson Healthcare Otsego Memorial Hospital President Rob Richardson. “I am so grateful for a team of staff and providers who care for their patients at such a high level each and every day. They are compassionate and work extremely hard to provide the best practices of medical care.”

Otsego Memorial Hospital is among only 30 percent of hospitals nationwide to achieve an “A” this period.

The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog group that examines hospital quality and safety, assigning an A, B, C, D, and F grade based on how safe the facility is for patients. The Leapfrog Group Hospital Safety Grade was developed under the guidance of a national panel and is based on measures of safety, quality, and efficiency.
