Munson Healthcare Chief Operating Officer Laura Glenn announced today that Joe Du Lac has been appointed President of Munson Medical Center (MMC), effective June 22, following a nationwide search.

Du Lac brings more than two decades of leadership experience across complex healthcare systems, with a strong track record of improving quality, safety, patient experience and operational performance. He was selected through a rigorous process that identified him as the leader best positioned to guide MMC into its next chapter.

Most recently, Du Lac served as System Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Bronson Healthcare Group, where he led a significant hospital transformation—reversing financial challenges, strengthening safety and quality outcomes, and elevating patient experience. His leadership also drove gains in surgical capacity, patient throughput and workforce engagement.

Previously, Du Lac held executive leadership roles with Trinity Health of New England, where he helped lead a multi-hospital turnaround, and the Detroit Medical Center, where he supported systemwide operational transformation.

“Joe brings a collaborative leadership style and a proven ability to strengthen both culture and performance,” said Laura Glenn, Chief Operating Officer, Munson Healthcare. “His experience leading complex transformations and delivering meaningful results will be invaluable as we continue to advance care at Munson Medical Center.”

Du Lac is known for his focus on connection, transparency, and accountability, and for creating environments where teams are empowered to do their best work. Throughout his career, he has built strong partnerships with physicians and aligned teams around shared goals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

“I am honored to join Munson Medical Center and the broader Munson Healthcare team. I was deeply impressed by the commitment, pride, and purpose of the people I met throughout the interview process,” said Du Lac. “Munson is a special organization with a strong mission and tremendous opportunity ahead, and I look forward to building on that foundation with our physicians, caregivers and community.”

Du Lac and his spouse, Beth, plan to relocate to Traverse City and are looking forward to becoming part of the northern Michigan region.
