Munson Medical Center is in the middle of the largest expansion in their history. The expansion is for the new Family Birth and Children’s Center, which will bring additional NICU services to all of northern Michigan.
Rayden Eastman was born 13 weeks early and was on the mechanical ventilator for weeks because his lungs were not ready. As sometimes happens with premies, this led Rayden to experiencing a hernia. Lisa Allred, a neonatologist at Munson Medical Center led the team that completed the procedure to fix the hernia, which was the first time this had been done at the hospital.
Desiree Worthington, chief development officer at Munson Medical Center, shares how the new Family Birth and Children’s Center will expand services to families in the entire community.
