During the week of Nov. 8, we will implement the use of OxyCide in pre-op, post-op, and surgical spaces in our Cadillac Hospital, Charlevoix Hospital, Munson Medical Center, and Otsego Memorial Hospital locations.
OxyCide is a non-bleach sporicidal disinfectant and has been used for nearly a decade in more than 1,000 hospitals nationwide. This project is helping MHC to streamline and standardize both the product and processes we use. While the vinegar smell may be different than what many are used to, this product has proven tough on COVID-19, C. diff spores, and other hard-to-kill organisms. Plus, it’s safer for everyday use, making it a great choice for our Healthcare Team and patients.
Surgical Services teammates in each of the sites listed above can expect to receive further information and training specific to their role so that all indicated surgical spaces are prepared to go live with this product the week of Nov. 8.
