Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases, a reminder that MDHSS has revised its quarantine guidance to say that anyone who has been exposed to COVID-19 must remain in quarantine for 14 days without exception.
REMINDERS: COVID-19 Quarantine Guidance
- Quarantine guidance should be based on the results of viral testing (i.e., PCR or antigen), NOT on the result of an antibody test.
- Quarantine for 14 days after a COVID-19 exposure.
- As essential workers, healthcare providers may still work after an exposure. But other than coming to work, should quarantine at home.
- People who have been fully vaccinated may not need to quarantine after exposure to COVID-19, depending on the circumstances of the person vaccinated and the exposure.
Please continue to support our Health Departments’ COVID-19 quarantine guidelines. For more quarantine guidance, please read this letter from Health Department medical directors Dr. Joshua Meyerson and Dr. Michael Collins.
