Monoclonal Antibody Therapy Now Available at Munson Healthcare

  • MHC is now offering Monoclonal Antibody (mAb) therapy to qualifying high-risk non-hospitalized outpatients diagnosed with COVID-19.
  • This one-time infusion therapy must be ordered by a referring provider for qualifying patients. Patients will not be permitted to schedule themselves.
  • Administration sites for this therapy will be located throughout the MHC service area. Currently mAb infusion therapy is being offered in Cadillac, Grayling, Kalkaska, and Traverse City. Appointments may be limited.

COVID-19 Quarantine Guidelines

  • Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases, anyone who has been exposed to COVID-19 must remain in quarantine for 14 days without exception.
  • For more quarantine guidance, read this letter from the HDs.

Inpatient Health Department Quarantine Process, EHR Alerts Begin Monday, April 26

A strict protocol has been developed for MHC inpatients who have been placed under quarantine by the health department, including an EHR alert that counts the days a patient needs to remain in “hospital quarantine.”

Reporting of COVID-19 Antigen Testing Results

Any office that does antigen testing must report testing data to the state. Click here to learn more.

In-House COVID-19 Testing

  • Although testing has increased as a result of the current surge in local COVID cases, our in-house testing reagent supplies remain strong.
  • We have transitioned all non pre-procedure COVID-19 testing in-house, and are no longer sending COVID-19 tests to Mayo. Pre-procedure COVID-19 testing will continue to be sent to Spectrum and MI Health.

Michigan Extends Epidemic Orders

MDHHS has extended the Gatherings and Face Mask Order through 5.24.21. This includes continuation of:

  • limitations on gatherings with capacity limitations set for indoor and outdoor events and spaces
  • capacity limitations and guidelines for retail, recreation, stadiums, restaurants, etc.
  • public masking requirement and, starting 4.26.21, extension of the masking requirement for those over age 2

Chris Squire Named Interim Community President for OMH

Chris Squire has been named Interim Community President for OMH and will replace Tom Lemon who is retiring at the end of the month. He will be reporting directly to Kirsten Korth-White, MHC East Region President.
