MHC Reinstates Universal Masking for Entire Healthcare Team

  • Based on CDC’s recommendation, MHC has reinstated Universal Masking in all MHC facilities (both clinical and non-clinical spaces) for the entire Healthcare Team.
  • Even if you are fully vaccinated, you must now mask when you enter any MHC facility.
  • The only masking exceptions are:
    • When you are eating and drinking
    • If you are in a private office alone and your door is closed
  • Universal Masking for our patients and visitors will continue.

Michigan Opioid Collaborative Program (MOCP) Launches Online Consultation

MOCP has launched online consultation for providers who have patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) and other substance use disorders. To request a patient consult with MOCP’s team of addiction specialists, providers can submit a request online or by phone.

Hospital Optimization Project (HOP)

It is essential and an expectation that all providers who use Cerner PowerChart or FirstNet complete required Hospital Optimization Project training prior to September 13, 2021.

Information Technology Updates

  • Cerner Help Desk: Help Desk callers will now be routed to Cerner’s Millennium Service Desk (MSD) when they have issues with PowerChart, FirstNet, or other Cerner application. 
  • OMH Imaging: All providers and staff will be able to view OMH imaging using InteleConnect as of 8.16.21.
  • Location Name Update for Cerner Ambulatory Offices for Referrals from within Cerner: When making a referral in Cerner PowerChart or FirstNet, providers will need to use the prefix “MHC” to search for all Cerner Ambulatory practice locations. Phased go live 8.16.21 – 8.24.21.

Isotope Shortage for Gallbladder Imaging

  • We continue to experience a shortage of Mebrofenin cold kits, which are used for gallbladder imaging.
  • As the shortage is expected to last through October, there will be no Mebrofenin cold kits made for weekends and a limited supply during the week.
  • Schedule permitting, we are able to conduct gallbladder imaging scheduled before 10 am, Monday – Friday.
