MHC COVID-19 Workforce Vaccine Requirements

To prepare for compliance with CMS and federal regulations, MHC will require all employee/providers/contract workers/students to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

  • for all current/other employees/providers/contract workers/students, vaccination by January 7, 2022, or sooner, if mandated by a regulatory body. 
  • For new employees with a start date of Sept 30, 2021 or after, vaccination must occur prior to employment.
  • Healthcare Team members and contract workers who are non-compliant as of January 7, 2022 will be subject to corrective action and possible termination of employment or suspension of privileges.

MHC will offer a variety of ways to make COVID-19 vaccination easy and accessible to those currently unvaccinated. MHC will also accept exemption requests until November 15, 2021. A link to the exemption request form with instructions for submission will be provided as soon as possible.

 

Cerner HealtheIntent Rollout Delayed Until November

A new rollout timeframe is now planned for Cerner HealtheRegistries as part of the phase 1 implementation of the Cerner HealtheIntent population health platform.   

When:  Nov. 15 is the first go-live date (replacing Oct. 4).  

Who's affected:  All ambulatory Healthcare Team members in the MHC Clinically Integrated Network (MCIN) and practices originally scheduled for Oct. 4 (Munson Family Practice, Charlevoix Primary Care, and Empire Family Practice).    

Why the delay: The Cerner HealtheRegistries rollout has been delayed due to issues encountered during application and validation testing.

Hospital Optimization Project (HOP) Implementation Continues

The HOP Command Center has been up and running, supporting HOP implementation since Tuesday, September 14th. Overall, the implementation has been a huge success with lots of positive feedback from end-users. 

 

Issues are being addressed and resolved and daily communication to end-users as well as robust At-The-Elbow support throughout the system continues.

 

As of Friday, September 24, 2021: 

  • 1,141 total tickets (168 enhancement requests)
  • 75.8% closed

Seasonal Flu Vaccination Requirement for Healthcare Team

MHC will again require flu vaccinations for all employees, volunteers, physicians/providers credentialed through the medical staff office, suppliers providing direct care, and students/clinical instructors doing clinical rotations throughout the system. This includes Healthcare Team members who work remotely.


Flu vaccinations must be documented by Oct. 31 to comply with the policy.

 

Healthcare Team members may also get flu vaccination at their Primary Care office or a local pharmacy and provide documentation to Employee Health.

 

All new flu vaccination Exemption Requests must be submitted by Oct. 15 to Employee Health, employeehealth@mhc.net or fax 231-935-6010.

 

Exemptions granted for the 2020-2021 flu season will be reviewed for the 2021-2022 flu season. Anyone who was granted an exemption last year and has not had a change in medical condition, does not need to submit a request for an exemption this year.

Reminder: Munson Healthcare Hosting PASC/Long COVID Support Group for Patient

Monthly support group for individuals suffering from long-term symptoms of COVID-19.

  • Referral is necessary and pre-registration is required.
  • Patients can visit munsonhealthcare.org/longcovid or call the Ask-A-Nurse hotline for registration assistance.
  • A printable program flyer is available to download and print.
  • Support group meets 1st Tuesday of each month, 5-6:30 pm
