The Ninth Annual Chip in Fore Hospice charity golf tournament for Munson Healthcare Hospice presented by LochenHeath Golf Club and Schmuckal Oil Company raised more than $147,600 at its Sept. 19 - 20 event.

Representatives of the golf club and oil company recently presented Munson Healthcare Hospice with a check.

“Another year, another tremendous effort by donors and volunteers, and an amazing bottom line,” said Debra Henderson, director at Munson Healthcare Foundations. “We are so thankful for this event’s profound success.”

LochenHeath’s Barb Maitland, chair of the event, and former Schmuckal Oil Company President Paul Schmuckal, whose company was the lead sponsor, thanked everyone involved in the event.

“This is something that we started and it has evolved into something very special over the years,” Maitland said. “We continue to be thankful to all of the sponsors, donors, and volunteers who have made this the success it is.”

“Munson Hospice is dear to a lot of people’s hearts because of the service they provide at the end of life,” Schmuckal said. “The cause is great and the volunteers are wonderful.”

Chip in Fore Hospice is the largest single fundraiser for Munson Healthcare Hospice, a not-for-profit organization committed to compassionate care regardless of a patient’s or family’s ability to pay. Munson Healthcare Hospice serves approximately 700 people each year and an additional 1,200 use its bereavement services.
