HIV Clinic to host Free Movie Screening on Nov. 30 and Open House on Dec. 1
In recognition of the 37th annual World AIDS Day*, Munson’s Thomas Judd Care Center (TJCC) is hosting two free community events.
On Sunday, November 30 at 2 p.m., TJCC will host a free movie screening of the musical fantasy film Wicked: For Good at the AMC Cherry Blossom 14 Theatre in Traverse City, following a brief conversation with the TJCC team on the importance of HIV testing and prevention. Free concessions will be provided. No RSVP is needed for this first-come, first-served event.
“We continue to encourage people to talk with their providers about sexual health and stay informed about prevention options,” said Thomas Judd Care Center Nurse Practitioner Shawn Kintigh. “The tools to prevent HIV are evolving and more effective than ever, but they only work when people know about them and use them consistently.”
On December 1 – World AIDS Day – TJCC invites the community to attend an open house at the new TJCC location at Foster Family Community Health Center in Traverse City. The event is on Monday, Dec. 1 from 3-6 p.m. at 550 Munson Ave. Suite 202. Attendees will tour the expanded clinic space, meet Thomas Judd Care Center staff, and learn more about services. Light refreshments will be served.
*World AIDS Day occurs annually on Dec. 1 to remind people about the worldwide effort to stop HIV and AIDS, as well as to commemorate those who have died because of the disease. More information can be found at worldaidsday.org.
