MHC COVID-19 Treatment Guidelines Updated

MHC’s Treatment Considerations in Adults and Children with Laboratory Confirmed SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) has been updated on the management of Tocilizumab drug interactions with Apixaban and Rivaroxaban.

COVID-19 Treatment Guidelines

Inpatient J&J Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine Administration Pilot

  • MMC has received 200 doses of the J&J Janssen COVID-19 vaccine to be given to inpatients prior to discharge.
  • We have started a pilot program on several MMC units, which is expected to last 2 weeks.
  • The J&J COVID-19 vaccine is a 1-dose vaccine, and cannot be interchanged with the mRNA vaccines.
  • A pharmacy team will identify eligible patients based on the current MDHHS eligibility criteria and will work with nursing to administer vaccines as part of this pilot program.
  • Learnings from this pilot, as well as vaccine availability, will determine the feasibility of expanding system wide.
