ePrescribe Requirement Extended to Jan. 1, 2022; Providers Still Asked to Sign Up Now

  • To reduce prescription misuse, state and federal law will soon require prescribers to electronically transmit all prescriptions, including those for controlled substances.
  • Although originally planned to go into effect on Oct. 1, 2021, this mandate has been extended to Jan. 1, 2022.
  • This date change aligns the state’s e-prescribing requirement with the similar CMS requirement.
