04.05.2023

The Grand Traverse Bay Area Stroke Club will learn about assistive devices available from the Michigan Assistive Technology Program at its meeting 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, at the Presbyterian Church in Traverse City.

The church is located at 701 Westminster in Traverse City.

Kelly Blackwell and staff from the Michigan Assistive Technology Program, a part of the My Michigan Disability Rights Coalition, will bring, demonstrate, and allow attendees to try a variety of assistive devices from jar openers, to oven mitts, knife guards, to labeling devices, recreational tools, technology apps, etc. These aids and appliances are available to try and sometimes borrow at home.

New and former members of the stroke club are invited to attend.

Melinda Hollands, L.M.S.W., with Munson Medical Center’s Patient Care Management Department, will facilitate the club meeting. For more information, please contact Hollands at 231-935-6380

The Grand Traverse Bay Area Stroke Club is open to the public and meets on the second Wednesday of each month. The group offers stroke survivors and support persons the opportunity to learn, share, and connect through speakers, demonstrations, and discussions.
