‘Global Approach’ to Stroke Rehabilitation Offered

The Grand Traverse Area Stroke Club will hear a presentation on “An Integrated, Global Approach to Recovery-based Rehabilitation Following Stroke” on Wednesday, Sept. 12.

The group meets from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. at The Presbyterian Church, 701 Westminster Road in Traverse City.

Traverse City’s Life Beyond Barriers Kyle Medearis, MS, OTRL, CBIS, and Kaitlyn Grangood, LLMSW, CBIS, will talk about the importance of a comprehensive stroke recovery program that involves activity-based therapy, capturing each person’s motivating factors, and prioritizing skills for daily independence and safety.

The Grand Traverse Bay Area Stroke Club is open to the public and meets the second Wednesday of each month. The stroke club offers stroke survivors and support persons the opportunity to learn, share, and connect with one another through speakers, demonstrations, and group discussions.
