What brought you to Munson Healthcare?
I joined Kalkaska Memorial Health Center more than 30 years ago to be close to my children. And as they grew older, it allowed me to participate in all their nearby school activities.
What has living and working during a pandemic taught you?
Life is too short. As I tend to overwork, I’ve realized that I need to place more emphasis on my family and enjoying life.
What do you love most about your work?
I love the variety and working directly with the providers.
What do you think is most beneficial about the recent regionalization of the Medical Staff Office (MSO) role?
Our MSO team has become a closer-knit group.
How would you describe the people of Munson Healthcare?
Passionate. Our staff care deeply for the people of our respective communities.
What are you most passionate about outside of work?
Although I love to flower garden, bird watch, and enjoy nature, my biggest joy is being a new grandma. I have the most beautiful granddaughter. I’m very passionate about my three sons. They have been the anchor of my life.
What might we be surprised to learn about you?
I love construction work. I have remodeled my home and am working with my youngest son to build a new home in Wisconsin.
What is your favorite piece of advice to give friends and colleagues?
Be the best that you can be. Also, there is more good in the world than bad, we just hear about the bad. Focus on the good things in life and spread the word.
