Lab Services During COVID-19

Health needs have not slowed down during COVID-19, but visiting a lab will look different than before COVID-19. Below are new processes in place for the safety of all patients and staff. Staff at all open locations are working to provide services as quickly as possible, but wait times may be longer than normal. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Most of Munson Healthcare's laboratory locations are open for walk-in service, but a few are available by appointment only. If your lab test does not require fasting, please consider coming for lab draws in the afternoon, when patient volume is currently low. Patients using a Munson Healthcare COVID-19 collection location or Munson Healthcare lab for COVID-19 speciman collection/testing should contact their provider for results. Click here to download information on our COVID-19 collection locations, including schedules. In many cases, lab results may not be available for four days.

Walk-In Lab Services

When visiting a Walk-In Clinic, patients will be screened for COVID-19, required to wear a mask, and asked to socially distance in the waiting room or outside until called to be seen.

Lab Services by Appointment

To improve service and keep patients appropriately distanced the following labs require an appointment. In order to maintain safety during COVID-19, patients must have an appointment at least 24 hours in advance. Patients will be screened, required to wear a mask, and asked to socially distance.

Elk Rapids, Kingsley, Suttons Bay

Schedule an Appointment

Call 231-392-7891 to schedule an appointment for Elk Rapids, Kingsley, and Suttons Bay. The call center hours are 8am-4pm, Monday-Friday. If busy assisting other patients, a laboratory representative will call you back during call center hours within 24 hours. 

  • Only leave one message with your full name and phone number. 
  • You will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms, including: Fever>100, shortness of breath, sore throat/cough, positive COVID-19 test or pending test within 72 hours.
  • You will be ask to provide your vehicle make/color during scheduling.

Day of Appointment

  • Arrive 5 minutes prior to your appointment with a face mask or provider note excusing face mask.
  • Doors will be locked at the facility. 
  • A laboratory representative will greet you at your vehicle or wave you in the facility. Please remain in your vehicle until you are called in.

Pre-Procedure COVID-19 Screening

Pre-Procedural testing at MHC collection sites is only for patients whose procedures are scheduled at MHC facilities. The following locations are open for pre-procedure COVID-19 screening:
