How to Register with MAPS
As of June 1, all prescribers will be required to have registered with the Michigan Automated Prescribing
System (MAPS), and conduct a MAPS query prior to prescribing or dispensing a controlled substance
to a patient.
NOTE: If you had registered in the old MAPS system prior to April 4, 2017, you must re-register.
Registration Process
- Go to michigan.pmpaware.net/login
- Click “Create an account”
- Enter your email address.
- Enter a password. Re-enter password to confirm.
- Select your role (Physician, Podiatrist, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, etc.)
- Enter personal and work information
- DEA Number(s)
- Professional License Number
- License Type
- Name
- Date of Birth
- Specialty
- Phone/Address
- 7. Click “Submit Your Registration”
- 8. A welcome screen will confirm your registration.
Physicians can delegate a staff member to query MAPS on your behalf. Delegates must also register in MAPS by
following steps 1-5 above and selecting “Prescriber Delegate-Unlicensed” as their role. Delegates will need
to enter each email of their supervising physicians, who must already be registered in MAPS.
